POL prices likely to increase by Rs 4.5/litre from March 1

ISLAMABAD: The prices of petroleum products are increasing in the international markets and it will likely affect the national markets.

Petroleum prices in Pakistan may also increase by Rs 4.5 per litre from March 1.
According to reports the prices of petrol, high-octane, kerosene oil and diesel will be raised by Rs 3.97, 4.50, 2.67, and 2.61 per litre, respectively. Another reason behind the likely raise is petroleum prices is the increase in general sales tax (GST). Apart from the price hike in all petroleum products, high-speed diesel’s price is expected to go down by Rs 3 per litre.
Its cost will decrease from Rs 80.61 to Rs 77.61. During the past 2 months, GST on petroleum products has been increased from 17% to 27%.
