POL products prices to remain unchanged in April

ISLAMABAD: The Spokesperson for the petroleum division in an official statement said that there will be no change in petrol, diesel and other petroleum products price for the month of April 2020.

“The prices shall remain constant as they were announced on March 25, 2020. Any speculation regarding prices contrary to this statement ought to be strongly discouraged,” read the statement.

The federal government on Tuesday announced to reduce the prices of all petroleum products by Rs15 per liter for three months. The new price of petrol is Rs96.60 per liter after decreasing from Rs111.60 per liter. The price of HSD has also been reduced to Rs107.26 per liter from Rs122.26 per lire.

The price of SKO has been reduced to Rs77.45 per liter from Rs92.45 per liter, whereas, the price of LDO has been slashed to Rs69.51 per liter from Rs84.51 per liter.

Lowering petroleum prices by Rs15 per liter will have an economic impact of Rs70 billion on the national exchequer, according to the Ministry of Finance.
