Poland pear imports up 36% in Q1 of 2015

WARSAW: Poland has increased pear imports by 36% in the first three months of 2015.

The import volumes totaled record high 12,700 tons against just 9,400 tons in the same period of the previous year.

Such a sharp rise in imports is connected with lower pear prices in the current year. For comparison, pear prices average 0.61 euro/kg in the current season against 0.75 euro/kg a year before.
