WARSAW: Poland’s unemployment rate in June likely declined to 10.4% from 10.8% in May and is in for hitting a single-digit level in a month or two, Labor Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz told a news conference.
“Everything indicates that within a month or two unemployment rate will decline to a single-digit level,” Kosiniak-Kamysz said. “We are pleased that not only the number of job offers but also their quality is increasing.”
The number of registered jobless at end-June stood at 1.624 million, down by 77,900 month on month, Labor Ministry data show. Employers filed 117,000 job offers in June, up by 38% m/m.
