LONDON: A team of specialists coordinated by the U.S. Geographical Survey found that polar bears may be eating terrestrial food including berries, birds and eggs. In the meantime, these things can’t supplant their customary eating of marine vertebrates, including ice seals.

As per the statement of Dr. Karyn Rode, lead author of the study and researcher with the USGS, “Albeit some polar bears may eat physical nourishments, there is no proof the conduct is far reaching. In the districts where terrestrial feeding by polar bears has been recorded, polar bear body condition and survival rates have declined.”

Moreover the study also reveals that physical environments are now possessed by wild bears, which happen at low densities and are a portion of the littlest of their species because of low nourishment quality and accessibility. They are a potential contender as polar bears uprooted from their ocean ice natural surroundings progressively utilize the same area environments as mountain bears.

Furthermore, Rode also said , “The tiny size and low populace thickness of wild bears in the Arctic gives a reasonable evidence of the nutritious constraints of inland environments for supporting expansive bodied polar bears in significant numbers. Mountain bears and polar bears are prone to progressively associate and possibly go after physical assets.”
