MEXICO: The package smashed through the couple’s dog kennel.
As far as things going bump in the night go, this US couple takes the cake after being woken by a 10kg package of marijuana, which fell from a drug smuggling plane and smashed through the roof of their dog kennel.
Arizona couple, Maya and Bill Donnelly, was sleeping on September 8 when a loud noise woke them up.
Their German Shepard’s doghouse has been split open by the falling marijuana package, which police said had likely fallen from an aircraft that took off from Mexico.
The package had smashed through the couple’s carport roof, before landing in the dog kennel.
“We have seen ultra light [plane] activity in our town before, but never see a package that is assumed to be from an ultra light fall so close to the border,” Nogales police spokesman Robert Fierros said.
Nobody, including the couple’s dog, was injured in the incident.
