Police arrest 18 drug dealers, seize 3.520kg contraband items

SARGODHA: The District Police have arrested 18 drug dealers and recovered narcotics and illegal weapons from their possession. According to official sources here on Friday, the Police of different Police stations conducted raids in their jurisdiction and arrested 18 accused and recovered narcotics and illegal weapons.

The arrested accuseds were identified as Ghulam Shabbir, Rahmat Ali, Mazhar Saqlain, Shahbaz, Safdar Rasool, Muhammad Ejaz, Saif Ullah and others. Police recovered 2020 grams heroin, 1500 grams Hashish, 36 bottle liquor, one Kalashnikov, seven Pistols of 30 bore, one gun of 12 bore and two Rifles of 44 bore along with bullets and cartridges from their possession, sources said.

Meanwhile, the police also arrested nine proclaimed offenders (POs) during the campaign. Police have registered separate cases against the accused and sent them to jail. Further investigations are in progress.
