WARSAW: Poland’s Q1 GDP growth data indicate a chance for the Polish economy to grow faster in 2015 than the budgeted rate of 3.4%, Finance Minister Mateusz Szczurek said.
This chance is supported by the fact that the growth path forecast by the ministry indicates an acceleration of growth rather than its slowdown, the minister said. On the other hand, the budgetary forecasts are juxtaposed with a “deeper and longer” deflation than it was assumed.
The ministry “is not changing its forecasts for the time being,” he stressed. Poland’s GDP grew by 3.5% in Q1 2015, above 3.3% expected by the market, Central Statistics Office (GUS) flash figure out Friday showed.
