TEHRAN: A delegation of 100 Polish managers and directors of different diplomatic, economic, agricultural and environmental sectors are due to visit Tehran on Sunday to discuss ways to further bolster relations and cooperation with Iran.
Iranian Ambassador to Warsaw Ramin Mehman-Parast told media that “managers of different sectors in Poland’s foreign, agriculture, economy and environment ministries are present in the delegation”.
According to the Iranian diplomat, the delegation is headed by the Polish deputy foreign minister.
Mehman-Parast also said that the comprehensive agreements on economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries are ready for endorsement.
He expressed the hope that the agreements would be inked by the two countries’ officials soon.
In November, Iranian and Polish officials stressed the need for utilizing all capacities to develop bilateral ties.
In a meeting between Head of Iran-Poland Parliamentary Friendship Group Vahid Ahmadi and Polish Ambassador to Tehran Juliusz J. Gojlo in the Iranian capital, the two sides underlined the long-term friendly relations between the two nations, specially Iranians’ hospitality towards the Polish refugees during the World War II, and called for enhanced mutual cooperation.
Both officials reiterated excellent political relations between Tehran and Warsaw, and emphasized the need for utilizing existing commonalities.
Diplomatic ties between Iran and Poland started in the 17th century and several large institutions for Oriental studies are now active in Poland.
Iranians hosted 100,000 Polish and provided them with welfare facilities during the Second World War after Germany occupied the East European country.
Ties between the two friendly countries of Iran and Poland are growing and the two sides are seeking to bolster relations in all arenas.
