According to the paper, Poland’s Sejm lower house of parliament is to vote on a bill that would impose such duty, starting in January 2020.
Currently, two of the most popular ride-hailing companies in Poland, American Uber and Estonian-Chinese Taxify are filing their tax returns in, respectively, the Netherlands and Estonia, the daily said.
Experts quoted by the paper added that despite Poland’s Infrastructure Ministry’s statement that the new regulations would be in accordance to EU law, the bill might be frozen by the European Commission.
Experts also said that if introduced, the new bill could significantly increase the prices of ride-hailing services in Poland.
