WARSAW: Poland’s registered unemployment rate fell to 10.3% in June from the prior-month level of 10.8%, according to Central Statistical Office (GUS) figures released Wednesday.
The number of registered jobless at end-June measured 1.62 million. The number of new registrations measured 163,700, up from 161,400 in May. At the same time, 243,500 were crossed off the register.
Employers filed 119,900 job offers in June, with the end-month tally at 93,800, up from 85,200 in May. At the same time 2012 companies declared laying of 29,900 employees in the coming period. Unemployment rate was down in all 16 Polish regions.
