ISLAMABAD: Political stability and continuity in policies are essential for sustaining the momentum of economic growth.
This was stated by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal while addressing at a function held under the auspices of Young Development Corps (YDC). The minister later inaugurated Library Centre at the Okara Campus of University of Education.
Ahsan further stated that YDC had become the biggest forum for youth mobilisation in Pakistan, under Vision-2025. He said youth had immense potential and were capable of showing to the world positive side of Pakistan by becoming its brand ambassadors.
The minister noted that national unity was need of the hour; not only for surmounting various challenges the country was confronted with, but also for achieving development goals. He pointed out that objective of YDC was to engage youth in the mainstream national development so that maximum advantage could be derived from their potential and abilities.
Talking about the rapid enrolment of girls in higher education, Ahsan said, “It is very encouraging to see that females are surpassing males in higher education.” He boasted that improved access to higher education at district level, brought about by the present government, had benefited the girls immensely.
