OTTAWA: Porsche presented two vehicles at the 2015 Detroit Auto show capable of making lead-footers lose their license faster than they can spell the word P-O-R-S-C-H-E.

First shown off was the new 2016 Cayenne Turbo S. Not surprisingly, Porsche has spiced things up a bit from its previous version, tacking on 20 horsepower over the outgoing model for a total of 570 horsepower, while torque climbs to 590 lb-ft (for a gain of 37). Fortunately for fans of big cars, the Turbo S is still powered by a V8 twin-turbo 4.8-liter engine, and the Tiptronic S gearbox eight-speed is retained as well.

According to the manufacturer, having turbochargers implanted directly in the exhaust manifolds ensures that the response of the mechanics is instant. This new model will do 0-100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds, and has a top speed of 284 km/h. Rest assured, this beast is still able to stop using the carbon-ceramic disc brakes, while the PDCC system (Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control) ensures particularly stable cornering SUV. For fans of statistics, this new Turbo S has travelled the Nürburgring in 7 minutes 59 seconds and 74 hundredths about 14 seconds faster than the previous record achieved by the Range Rover Sport SVR earlier in 2014.

Also unveiled was yet another juiced-up Porsche 911. The manufacturer has decided to add a GTS variant for their popular 911 Targa 4 model, bringing the new Targa 4 GTS up by 30 horsepower for a total of 430. Additional good news for lovers of the glass roof model, Porsche continues to offer two gearboxes, manual and seven-speed PDK dual-clutch as well. The automatic will do 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 second, while the manual can do it in 4.7 seconds.

The GTS Targa 4 will also feature matte black 20-inch enter-lock wheels, a sports exhaust, Sport Chrono package, and tinted Bi-Xenon headlights.
