Port Qasim surpasses assigned revenue collection target

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate Port Qasim surpassed its assigned target with Rs 540.54 million and collected Rs37.80 billion duty and taxes against the assigned target of Rs37.25 billion in April 2017.

Sources at Port Qasim told Customs Today that the Collectorate collected Rs11.52 billion under the head of customs duty, Rs21.34 billion as sales tax, Rs4.55 billion income tax and Rs380.38 million federal excise duty (FED) during the above said period.

The Collectorate has collected Rs2.57 trillion revenue against the assigned target of Rs2.52 trillion during first ten months of FY2016-17 (July-April).

Meanwhile, the Regional Tax Office (RTO-II) collected Rs47236 million in April. According to Customs Today’s sources at RTO-II, out of the said amount, the RTO-II collected Rs44232 million as income tax, sales tax Rs2446 million and federal excise duty(FED) Rs558 million in the above said period.
