Port Qasim witnesses busy day

KARACHI: The Port Qasim Friday witnessed activity as three ships carrying containers and Soya been seeds were berthed at Qasim International container terminal and FAP terminal respectively.

Meanwhile, three more ships carrying containers and coal also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was 65% at the port on Friday where a total seven ships namely MSK Stadle Horn, MSC Busan, Jadrana, Calim Seas, Ginga Saker, Al Soor II and GSW Fabulous are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Soya Been Seeds, Chemical, Diesel Oil and Edible Oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 135,206 tonnes comprising 91,862 tonnes imports and 21,672 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2740 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
