WASHINGTON: Port of Longview will host two special commission meetings next week to begin planning the 2017 budget. The budget workshops will be held 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Wednesday at the port administration office at 10 Port Way, Longview.
The workshops will help commissioners and staff outline the priorities for the organization in the next year, including funding for capital projects and Willow Grove park. The port is partially supported by a property tax levy, which is typically adjusted annually. This year the levy was 43 cents per $1,000 of assessed home value in 2016. The commission is expected to pass a final budget by the end of November.
