Officials at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach plan to convene seven working groups of industry experts tasked with improving the flow of cargo in and out of the San Pedro Harbor.
The first group to be convened will be assigned to discussing issues specific to peak season shipping in 2015, according to a joint announcement from the two ports Wednesday.
Port officials are seeking representatives from different parts of the goods movement industry, such as shipping lines, companies that receive imported cargo, trucking firms, rail lines, equipment owners and labor unions, to participate in the groups.
