Ports & Shipping Ministry, PQA issued contempt notices

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan has admitted for preliminary hearing contempt of court plea on non implementation of court’s orders regarding illegal appointments and has issued notices to Port Qasim Authority and Ports and Shipping Ministry.

Three member bench of the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani took up the contempt of court plea for hearing.

The petitioner Abdul Jabbar Memon appeared in the court and told he had filed a new contempt of court petition making the request for initiation of contempt of court proceedings. The court remarked that it was a new application; therefore, the court is issuing notices to the parties concerned.

The hearing was adjourned for three weeks.
