LISBON: British market for Portuguese furniture has grown more than any other and is now 600 percent up on what it was four years ago, the Portuguese Wood and Furniture Association (AIMMP) said on Tuesday.
Exports to the UK were under €10 million back in 2010, but had surpassed the €74 million mark by 2014 the directors of the AIMMP projects and operations department, Joana Nunes, told Lusa.
“A lot of this is due to the advertising in that market, but also because of new companies with very good design and high standards of quality”, she said.
“It is still a relatively small market compared with the €300 million exported to France or to Spain, but while those figures remain relatively stable, the UK market is expanding and that is what makes it so interesting”, she added.
