LISBON: Portuguese oil company, Galp Energia, made a profit of €310 million in the first half of 2015, €195 million more than in the same period in 2014, according to information sent to the Portuguese Stock Market Regulator (CMVM) on Monday.
The net profit was driven by the two-fold increase in production in Brazil and better refining margins in Europe, the company said in a communiqué.
Galp processed 56 million barrels of crude, 40% more than in the first six months of 2014, which had been affected by the programmed shut down for maintenance at the Sines refinery.
