LISBON: One of Portugal’s main drug suppliers has been detained by PJ police for trafficking heroin and cocaine.
Through its National Drug Combat Unit the PJ identified and arrested the 40-year-old man who is believed to be behind a number of drug trafficking crimes and is described as “probably one of the main suppliers of heroine” to Lisbon.
The bust came as part of a wider crackdown on regional drug trafficking. Searches carried out on the suspect’s home resulted in the seizure of a range of drug-related paraphernalia as well as over 10,000 grams of highly pure heroin. A number of mobile phones and around €11,000 were also seized in the sweep.
