Post Clearance Audit detects tax evasion of Rs 3.8m by M/s Sehrish Zeerish Associates

KARACHI: Directorate of Post Clearance Audit (PCA) has detected tax evasion of Rs 3.8 million allegedly by M/s Sehrish Zeerish Associates and directed the management of the company to pay the evaded tax amount at the earliest. The PCA authorities also imposed penalty on the company.

Sources told Customs Today that during scrutiny of import documents it was revealed that M/s Sehrish Zeerish Associates imported various consignments of glass catchers to use in microwave ovens.

Sources said that the company cleared their consignments through their clearing agent M/s Shabbir Enterprises. The consignments were imported from January to April 2016. Sources said that M/s Sehrish Zeerish Associates availed undue concessions and benefits an SRO and caused a loss of million of rupees to the national kitty.

After detecting the tax evasion, Post Clearance Audit authorities directed the management of M/s Sehrish Zeerish Associates to clear the outstanding amount within 14 days along with fine failing which stern action will be taken against the company.
