PRV Cell to start work on Valuation Ruling of steel import

KARACHI: The Post Release Verification (PRV) Cell of Customs Collectorate Appraisement (West) has started working on the Valuation Ruling (VR) with regards to the import of steel.

The sources informed Customs Today that the Collector Appraisement (West) Dr Owais Jawwad Agha has directed the officials of PRV Cell to scrutinize the import data of the imported steel consignments and submit it in the office of the Collector Appraisement (West) in short period of time.

The sources further confirmed that the Collector Appraisement (West) has also asked the officials concerned to check the valuation ruling of steel imported consignments from different origins.

“There is a major possibility of generating revenue recoveries against some importers who have been imported the steel consignments by using different PCT Headings and Valuation Rulings”, sources added.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Collector Appraisement (West) Dr Owais Jawwad Agha has adopted an optimistic approach in generating revenue recovery while conducted post release verification of the imported consignments.
