WELLINGTON: Sending a letter in the post will be a little more expensive in the next few months. New Zealand Post has announced price adjustments to some of its products.
Standard post and fast post prices will increase slightly starting in July. Sending a medium-sized letter in the post, within New Zealand, will now cost $1, instead of 80c. The same letter via fast post delivery will set you back $1.80 – an increase of 40c.
The changes come as part of NZ Post’s annual price review. “Letter volumes have continued to fall sharply at a rate of approximately 60 million items a year,” a statement said. “This has impacted revenue and despite significant and ongoing cost reductions, some price adjustments are necessary.”
