Power generation companies producing 12,000MW against capacity of 24,000MW

LAHORE: Energy experts Martin from Germany, Slaman Butt and Ahmer Butt and other addressing a seminar, organised by Espire, have stressed the need for taking electricity conservation measures to bring end to load shedding.

They said the power generation companies were producing mere 12,000MW against their installed capacity of 24,000MW due to fuel and financial constraints.

They said around 20 per cent electricity was lost due to inefficient use of it. The experts claimed that they saved billions of rupees by initiating efficient energy measures in 98 factories during 2008.
