Power shortfall reduces to 2000 MW: Govt exempts industry from outages

ISLAMABAD: The government has exempted the industrial sector from electricity outages so that they could meet the export orders.

Now the industries were by supplied with uninterrupted power, officials sources claimed. They said, “Zero power outage is being observed to the industrial sector of Pakistan for the last three weeks.”

They added that the power generation situation in Pakistan has significantly improved and only 2000 MW power shortfall was recorded. The sources said that six to eight hour power load-shedding was being carried out in the urban and rural areas of Pakistan.

The officials said that the government has expedited work on various power projects having accumulative capacity of 10,500 MW with the assistance of China.
