PR earns Rs 49.8 million from freight service in a day

LAHORE: Pakistan Railways earned a record income of Rs 49.8 million in a day by loading 1039 freight wagons on Tuesday.

According to the PR sources, the PR earned the income by transporting goods from several stations in a single day and it achieved the target of loading more than 1000 freight wagons first time after September 30, 2010.

The PR loaded 618 freight wagons from Karachi, 335 from Lahore, 24 from Peshawar, 38 from Rawalpindi, 6 from Multan, 18 from Quetta and 2 from Sukkur railway station including 250 oil carriage wagons and 110 wagons of coal.

PR Chief Executive Officer M Javaid Anwar Boobak in a message to PR staff has expressed his pleasure and congratulated them on the achievement.
