LAHORE: Federal Minister for Pakistan Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has announced that despite a raise in petroleum prices, the government will not increase train fares.
The minister, while talking to the media at PR headquarters said that the PR would have to face a loss of 19 per cent due to increase in fuel prices. He said no suggestion of privatisation of the department was under-consideration and there was no need of it now as the department had come out of crisis with efforts of its employees and officers.
The minister appreciated trade unions for their cooperation in restoration of the PR adding that it was their cooperation which changed its direction from privatisation. He said that time was not far away when employees would enjoy bonuses.
