PRA gives 20-day deadline to ‘unregistered’ hotels, guest houses in Murree

LAHORE: Revenue Authority (PRA) Friday issued strict warning to owners of unregistered hotels and guest houses of Murree with directions to get them registered within 20 days.

According to official sources, a team of the PRA visited Murree and conducted raids against unregistered hotels and guest houses. On the request of Hotel Association Murree, PRA has given 20 day deadline to owners to get registration certificate from PRA and immediately start paying sales taxes, otherwise their premises will be sealed.

A detailed meeting was held in the office of Assistant Commissioner, Murree in which Hotel Association of Murree has assured their full cooperation with PRA and committed to use its authority to bring its members in sales tax net.

PRA will establish a facilitation counter at AC’s office Murree to guide and facilitate the businessmen who want to get their hotels or guest houses registered. Punjab Revenue Authority will take action in case of non-compliance vis-a vis the deadline already given to owners of hotels and guesthouses in Murree.
