PRA issues notices to city’s 180 restaurants

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has issued Sales Tax notices to 180 restaurants located in the posh areas of the city.

As per details available to Customs Today, teams of PRA, under the supervisions of additional commissioner enforcement, took action against those restaurants which were reluctant to pay tax on their heavy sales. The authority has issued second notices to all the restaurants.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PRA has started installing monitoring system aimed to enhance the revenue of the provincial exchequer. It has also started a prize scheme to convince the masses for demanding Sales Tax invoices from restaurants.

It is also learnt that the PRA will continue its crackdown on those restaurants which are not submitting Sales Tax according to their income.
