PRA Multan imposes Rs3m fine on tax defaulters

MULTAN: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has launched a crackdown against restaurants and marriage halls in Layyah and Dera Ghazi Khan for non-payment of sales taxes.

The PRA Multan Office issued notices to the tax defaulters in both the cities and imposed Rs3 million fine on them for not paying their due taxes.

Additional Commissioner Zeeshan Nazir Khan has been asking the owners of these restaurants and marriage halls though notices to pay their taxes as they are already deducting sales taxes from customers.

Authorities are making serious efforts to bring these hotels and marriage halls in the tax net and they have widened the scope of their action for the collection of taxes.
