LAHORE: Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) received record Rs 6.12 billion taxes during the month of April.
PRA Additional Commissioner Salman Ali said it was the highest rate of tax receipt in a month by any provincial or sub-national revenue authority in the country, said a handout. “PRA was set up a short time ago and it has proved its importance due to positive changes,” he said.
He maintained that PRA made a record recovery of 64 percent from service sectors during the last ten months. “It received a total of 47.773 billion rupees at the rate of 37 percent during the first 10 months whereas this amount was Rs 34.870 billion in the corresponding period last year,” he added.
