PRA recovers Rs 660m in four months from Gujranwala

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) recovered Rs 660 million during first four months of running fiscal year 2016-17 in Gujranwala region.

It has set tax revenue recovery target of Rs 1.2 billion for Gujranwala region for the fiscal year 2016-17.

The PRA tax applies on 62 different services including the contractors of different provincial government departments, food men, marriage halls catering and telecom services, officials said.

They said that the Punjab government had levied 16 percent PRA tax on the services of the contractors of the provincial government departments, but after successful negotiations with the Punjab government, the ratio of tax has been reduced to only 1 percent from 16 percent from October 1st, 2016.
