PRA seals 12 food outlets, 2 marriage halls due to tax evasion

SIALKOT: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has sealed 12 food outlets, including two marriage halls, for prolonged non-payment of their pending sales and services taxes. The authority has launched a fresh crackdown against the defaulters in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts.

Additional Commissioner PRA Gujranwala Division Shafqat Rasul and Assistant Commissioner PRA Muhammad Tanveer Yaseen led this crackdown against the defaulters.

PRA teams sealed Sarai Adam Marriage Hall, Moon Marriage Hall and ten other food outlets for the non payments of their sales and services taxes, the senior PRA officials added.

The senior PRA officials added that the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has also issued the recovery notices to the hundreds of the defaulters advising them to ensure the early payment of the 16 percent sales tax on services sectors including car and auto mobile,  auto workshops, electric and electronics, health and gym , physical fitness clubs,  hair cutting, hair dying and shaving saloons , hotels, guest houses club, air conditioned beauty parlours, beauty centers,  shopping plazas, mall centers,  property dealers,  construction services , tour operators  and travel agents,  sports goods, textile, leather, carpet, surgical and franchises etc.
