PRA seals 15 hotels for non-registration of sales tax

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has sealed 15 hotels, including Palace Inn and Zimindar Hotel for non-registration of sales tax.

The PRA has also seized hotels including Palace Inn Hotel on Fane Road, Zimindar Hotel on McLeod Road, Mian Hotel on Ravi Road and al Mumtaz Hotel for non payment of tax for the year 2012.

Other hotels, including Danish, New Arif, Wadood, Gunj Bukhsh, Ghaznvi, Shish Mehal, International, Darbar and Sharaz, were also sealed in the city for non-payment of sales tax.

The PRA team, consisting of Additional Commissioner Amanaullah Anwar and Deputy Commissioner Zakaullah, led the operation.

The official sources said that despite the fact that the hotels were serve notice for the payment of sales tax but the hotels would not comply with.
