SIALKOT: The special teams of Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) have started special secret surveys of the commercial properties including the hotels, marriage halls, restaurants, property dealers, goods transporters , auto workshops and others located in Gujranwala Division to bring the maximum services providers under the tax net.
Commissioner PRA Gujranwala Abdul Jawad told that the PRA teams were not allowed to meet the owners of the above-mentioned properties in a bid to halt any corruption there, due to which the PRA teams were busy in secret surveys there.
He said that the people (related to the services providing businesses) those would be identified as taxable would be brought under the tax net after these surveys by issuing them the special notices, in this regard.
He said that PRA was also making consultations with local trade bodies including Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) seeking their active cooperation, in this regard.
He said that the institution which would not get them registered with PRA would be sealed.
Commissioner revealed that a special facilitation counters has also been established at the PRA Complex in Gujranwala for facilitating the local traders.
He said that the Punjab government has exempted the health and education sectors from the services and professional taxes, in this regard.
