Punjab Revenue Authority to bring 150 more dry cleaners into tax net

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has decided to broaden its network in Lahore and has shortlisted 150 more dry cleaners to bring them into the tax net in coming days.

Sources told Customs Today that the PRA has searched 150 dry cleaners in posh areas of the city which are providing expensive services to citizens and they are earning millions of rupees but are not registered for sales tax. It is decided that these dry cleaners will be registered for sales tax and they will be monitored through modern software.

The Punjab Revenue Authority will start action against these costly dry cleaning services providers who are providing services in posh areas of Lahore like, Defence Housing Authority, Model Town, Johar Town, Faisal Town, Cantonment area, Raiwind Road, Multan Road, Valencia Town and Allama Iqbal Road.

Meanwhile PRA has also started crackdown against restaurants who are failed to submit their tax statements despite receiving notices. PRA has sealed many restaurants in during last one month
