PRA to bring 59 new departments under tax net

SIALKOT: Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) decided to expand its circle of sale tax collection under which PRA would bring 59 other departments under the tax net, as the PRA established its special recovery offices at divisional level for ensuring the early collection of the sales tax from 59 more different institutes under a multi-phased tax collection plan.

Commissioner Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Gujranwala Division Abdul Jawad told Customs Today that under this plan, the sales tax collection network was being expanded and 59 more government and private institutes were being brought under sale tax network , as the special teams also started work with their special assignments , in this regard.

He said that travel agencies, consultants  , exporters, construction services, car dealers,  housing societies , beauty parlours,  property dealers , sliming clinics, courier services, workshops,  advertising agencies  , restaurants , hotels, marriage and banquet halls and other institutes are being brought under the sale tax network as well.

Special PRA teams were busy in re-assessment surveys of these institutes which would be completed in the running month, after this the special notices would be issued to them advising them to ensure the early payment of sales tax.
