PRA to set up separate Commissionerate in Lahore for large taxpayers

LAHORE: The 129th meeting of Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) chaired by its Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra reviewed recommendations for establishing a separate commissionerate in Lahore for large taxpayers and other matters to start work on large-scale institutional reforms.

According to the PRA spokesperson, the daily performance reports of enforcement officers to be linked with central dashboard and a comprehensive reward and penalty mechanism is being prepared.

He added that new positions are being created in the IT Wing, while the Authority’s database is being fully integrated and the Sahulat App further upgraded. To ensure transparency and sustained officer performance, proposals for establishing dedicated Audit and Vigilance Wings were also examined.

The spokesperson stated, the PRA Commissioner Appeals will now be able to conduct case hearings through video link. Complaints filed through the Sahulat App will also be forwarded via instant message to the relevant Commissioner and enforcement officers. Action on consumer complaints will be mandatory within 24 hours and field officers will ensure their redressal strictly on merit.
