PRAL to share import, export data with Customs Internal Audit

KARACHI: The PRAL, a private firm, which keeps the import and export data of Pakistan Customs while following the directives of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarters has agreed conditionally to share import and export data with the Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs, it was learnt here on Tuesday.

The management of PRAL, through a letter, has informed the authorities concerned of the Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs that the department (Internal Audit) can get any kind of import and export data as per requirement against the requisition undersigned by the Director-Internal Audit (Customs).

The sources informed Customs Today that the said move of PRAL management is linked with the objective that it wants to know about the working of Internal Audit-Customs in connection with the scrutinizing of any kind of import and export data.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PRAL management in the previous week has refused to provide and share any kind of clearance data i.e. (import and export) with the Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs without giving any cohesive reason.
