Collector Saleem orders Customs officers to prepare SOPs regarding clearance of vehicles

KARACHI: The Customs officials of Car Group (Group-VII) Model of Customs Collectorate (MCC) Appraisement-West while following the directives of Collector Muhammad Saleem have started to prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in connection with the clearance of vehicles from the Collectorate.

The sources informed Customs Today that the officials of Car Group in MCC Appraisement-West have completed plenty of work in formulating the SOPs for clearance of vehicles from port. They further said that the SOPs in clearance of vehicles contain verification of the importers’ passport and all related documents including valid CNIC.

“The collector MCC Appraisement-West has taken the said initiative in order to curb the unlawful clearance of vehicles in future”, sources added.

The Sources said that the officials may submit final draft regarding the SOPs by the end of this month i.e. (February) and the Collector MCC Appraisement-West would issue a public notice in this regard in March-2015.
