President Mamnoon Hussain vows to promote Islamic Banking

KARACHI: President Mamnoon Hussain has showed his commitment to promote Islamic Banking in Pakistan. He advised Islamic Banks to do dire struggle for socio-economic justice by creating awareness about the benefits of interest free financial system free from exploitation.

Presiding over the Round-Table Conference (RTC II), the President urged the Islamic Banking Industry to do more and significantly contribute and strengthen the efforts of the government for the socio-economic development and rebuilding of the economy on sound footings. Growing popularity of Islamic Banking in the country demanded urgent measures to make it practical, beneficial and nearer to Islamic ideals of economic justice. The Islamic Banking being the first step towards Interest Free Banking needed to be equally focused on social equity “This is because equitable distribution of wealth is the gist of Islamic socio-economic system,”
