ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari administered oath to the newly appointed FTO at Aiwan-e-Sadr (Presidency) in Islamabad.
Hijazi, a Chartered Accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, has built a professional career spanning more than four decades.
His expertise covers taxation, corporate and capital market regulation, audit oversight, financial management and advisory services.
He has earlier held key leadership positions, including Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and Chairman of the Audit and Oversight Board of Pakistan.
Following the ceremony, the newly sworn-in FTO called on President Zardari.
During the meeting, the President emphasized the importance of informing the public about the functions of the FTO, particularly its role in assisting taxpayers.
He also encouraged the use of modern technological tools to speed up the handling and resolution of complaints.
President Zardari further stressed that the institution must remain committed to providing swift and free-of-cost relief to citizens facing grievances, while steadily extending its reach to ensure access to services across the country.
