Preston University wins 6th RCCI Business Plan Competition

RAWALPINDI: Preston University has won the 6th RCCI Business Plan Competition organised by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) here on Tuesday. According to details students from seven leading universities, Fatima Jinnah, Foundation, Preston University, COMSATS, APCOM and Fast University participated in the competition. The basic purpose of holding business plan competition was to bridge the gap between industry and academia to promote business activities in the region.

The Acting Coordinator of Prime Minister Youth Loan Scheme Ms. Romina Khurshid was the chief guest of the ceremony; while former President Manzar Khurshid Sheikh, Dr. Shimail Daud Arain, Faisal Mushtaq and Syed Ahmed Masood were the Jury members of the competition. President RCCI Syed Asad Mashadi Senior vice president Mian Humayun Parvez, Vice President Saboor Malik, members’ executive committee and large number of the students were also present on the occasion.

Speaking in his inaugural address President RCCI Syed Asad Mashadi said that it is need of the hour to strengthen industry-academia linkage to endorse business activities and Rawalpindi Chamber is playing its de role in this regard. He said that it is the sixth competition of its kind organized by the RCCI and same sprit will be continued in future.

President RCCI said that Chamber’s mission is to flourish the talent of the students and provide them employment opportunities according to their capabilities. He said that students are our future, our industrial development is dependent on our youth and it is the time to give them space for sharing their ideas.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest Ms. Romina Khurshid said that Rawalpindi Chamber is initiated a healthy activity to polish the talent of new generation and these kind of competition will help a lot in the development of a nation. She lauded the role of RCCI in national economic uplift and hoped that such competition will be continued in future. She was of the view that with help of said steps promotion of business activities can be made possible. At the end she distributed prizes among the successful students. It is worth to be mentioned that students Air University and FJWU stood second & third respectively.
