Preventive Division impounds worth Rs226.665m more goods & vehicles than last year

ISLAMABAD: The Preventive Division of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) impounded smuggled goods and vehicles with more revenue of Rs226.665million and made 39 more seizures during eight months of current Financial Year (July to February) 2016-17 against the same period of corresponding year FY2015-16.

According to Arslan, Collector MCC Islamabad, during the current financial year, the above said figures showed that performance of Customs ASO Islamabad was better than corresponding year FY2015-16.

During above said period of current financial year, the ASO made 254 seizures whereas the ASO made 215 seizures during the last Financial Year15-16. The ASO seized smuggled goods worth Rs176.721million during FY16-17 while it seized smuggled goods worth Rs94.617million in same period during the corresponding year.

The ASO Islamabad seized a number of 66 Non-Duty Paid vehicles valued Rs115.375million during FY16-17 whereas it seized six NDP vehicles worth Rs13.014million during same period of corresponding year FY15-16 adding the ASO impounded 107 offending vehicles (vehicles used for smuggling) valued Rs115.000million during eight months of current financial year whereas ASO seized 88 offending vehicles worth Rs72.800million during corresponding Financial Year 15-16.

According to collector MCC Islamabad, the ASO Islamabad made seizures worth Rs407.096million during the current Financial Year 2016-17 whereas the ASO made total seizures of vehicles and goods worth Rs180.431million during corresponding year 2015-16.
