KARACHI: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Karachi Customs Preventive has seized huge quantity of smuggled gutka and betel nut worth Rs9.75 million.
Information was received through Preventive Collector D. Iftikhar regarding movement of smuggled goods. Additional Collector advised Deputy Collector Mohammad Faisal to tighten the vigilance.
The ASO team intercepted a Suzuki pick-up near SITE area and examination led to recovery of 85 bags of smuggled gutka and 1,000 tons of smuggled betel nut. Further investigations are under way.
