LAHORE : The marketing companies Saturday hiked the prices of LPG by Rs20 per kg ,thus raising the price of domestic cylinder by Rs250 and those of commercial cylinder by Rs1000.
The Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) Distributors Association claimed that LPG producers had set price at Rs60,000 per ton while in international market, LPG price was at contact price (cp) 563$ per ton—much lower than the current price in Pakistan. The association claimed that gas should be kept available in the market at Rs95 per kg. But the marketing companies were indulging in black marketing and artificial shortages and violating the OGRA rule, it was said. If OGRA failed to take action, then prices of LPG would further increase in coming days, warned the association.
