Principal Appraiser Iftikhar censured over misconduct

ISLAMABAD: Iftikhar Ahmed Cheema, a Pakistan Customs Service officer, has been censured for misconduct.

As per details, the disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the accused officer, Principal Appraiser, MCC Appraisement, Lahore, under Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973.

Irum Sohail, Deputy Director, Directorate of Input Ouput Co-Efficient Organisation (North), Lahore, was appointed as inquiry officer to conduct inquiry on account of unauthorised absence from duty with effect from July 24, 2015.

After considering the charges framed in the charge sheet, inquiry report and other available record, the accused officer was found guilty of “misconduct” under rules 3(b) of the Government Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 1973.

The authorized officer imposed minor penalty of “censure” upon Iftikhar Ahmed Cheema under rule 4(1)(a)(i) of the Govt Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973. His unauthorised absence from duty for the period from July 24, 2015 to February 07, was commuted in to extra ordinary leave (EOL) without pay.
