Privilege cards: FBR Member Admin calls it ‘tribute’ to taxpayers

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Member Administration Shahid Hussain Jatoi said that the award of privilege cards by the Premier is a reward and incentive for taxpayers from the FBR.

Talking to Customs Today after the ‘privilege cards’ awarding ceremony to taxpayers, he said that conferment of such honoured cards was very rare in the world as nowhere taxpayer were being awarded with such special privilege cards.

He explained that privilege cards had been issued to 100 top taxpayers in each of the following categories of salaried individuals, non-salaried individuals, Association of Persons and companies.

“It will help the FBR to enhance tax collection as it has dispelled the impression prevailed among the taxpayers that the government was not giving them the respect they deserved,” he pointed out.

He emphasized that all Pakistanis should contribute to the country’s prosperity by paying their taxes on time, adding that issuance of gratis passport was a tribute to taxpayers as even BPS-21 officers of government had not been entitled to such passport and privileges.

He lauded the minorities and said that most of the awardees were from minorities, showing their commitment to the country’s economic progress.
