Proclaimed offender arrested

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Faisalabd on Thursday arrested a proclaimed offender for defrauding people.

According to the FIA spokesman, accused Rana Muhammad Siddique Khan, a resident of Mansoor Abad Faisalabad, received Rs 4.147 million from different people for sending them for Hajj and Umra.

Pakistan’s Liquid Foreign Reserves increase KARACHI: The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$ 20,052.9 million on October 13. This was announced by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) here on Thursday. It said that the break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under: i) Foreign reserves held by the SBP: US$ 14,157.6 million ii) Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks: US$ 5,895.3 million iii)   Total liquid foreign reserves: US$ 20,052.9 million.

During the week ending 13 October 2017, SBP’s reserves increased by US$ 370 million to US$ 14,158 million due to official flows, the SBP statement added.
